Although it took quite a while to get seen to, the nurses were great, a big thankyou to Lara for your care , attention, and great interaction, not only with myself but with other patients as well, you actually took my mind off my pained leg whilst stabbing me with the needle, oh and thanks for the lolly. Clinically - at one stage overnight my oxygen sats dipped (have asthma) and the monitor beeped. Pushed the alarm for help for either oxygen or just stop the noise - but after it had beeped for 30+ mins and no help, I got up and inadvertently/accidentally ripped the canula from my other hand - and went to the staff desk, noone about, found someone tidying the drugs cabinet. She admonished me for panicking (30+ mins wait doesn't sound all that panicky to me). Then came in with another attendant and said told her that I had panicked and pulled my canula out, so they might as well leave it out. Well, I didn't do it out of choice!!

Due for surgery that day so fasted from 5:30am. On admission filled in dinner menu card for Tues 14th, and for breakfast on Wed 15 November. After theatre, when returned to Cove (never did get a single room) no dinner, too late I was told (about 5:30pm), eventually did get a sandwich and a cup of tea and that was it.

I also think in a private ward, patients' deserve better than to have "hairdresser-type" music blaring from the staff desk and to hear the staff laughing and talking loudly. Heard (unfortunately, it is hard to NOT hear) some staff gossiping about other staff members. Inappropriate - another night shift staff member's anxiety issues should not be discussed in that manner, nor should anyone elses. Come on people, respect. (I work in the health industry myself, have for many years).

ER staff & ward nurses 100% can not fault them. Especially the first Doctor who saw my daughter was brilliant in calming her and ensuring she felt comfortable.

Have had to take my daughter twice in the past 2 weeks for same issue. So in a nutshell,

Breakfast, bearing in mind this followed almost no food since 5:30am the previous day - not as per request - no hot drink offered, got airline pack of orange juice and one of milk, and ludicrously four, yes FOUR sachets of sugar, a packet of rice bubbles and two rolls. Menu request was written by me on admission as stewed apple, muesli and yoghurt and orange juice. I do not eat bread. Perhaps the other woman called L in the other room was served my breakfast.

My 12 year old nephew has gone there a few time's , to which he clearly has some mental health issues and self harmed this in itself is horific an then the psychiatric team (nurse on duty), tells you that there's nothing they can do an that to just take him back home where he can run away an self harm some more possibly kill himself. DUTY OF CARE !!!! Seems to not be in the vocabulary of this hospital, loose the stigma an show some professionalism!!!life's depend on this!!

Called the ED trying to get some assistance for my mother who was 10min or less away en-route and I don't live anywhere near her. I knew she was alone and in a bad condition so would not be able to speak to the triage nurse properly upon arrival. I'm an ED RN myself so know how it works and had hoped to leave a brief handover re: her condition just incase she collapsed outside or just inside the ED. Spoke to a very rude nurse named Angela. Absolutely unprofessional and disinterested in a patients health. Would give 0 stars if I could. Go elsewhere if you can for emergency care.

I was admitted to Cove on Tuesday 14 November. Admission person in main hospital was nice (Kathryn?) and tried to be efficient but computer ran slow, she was unable to find which ward I should be in, showed first as Webster, then Barker, then Cove. She made numerous phone calls to try and sort it out. When I got to Cove I had to move rooms as they apparently had two people with my first name, and initially showed me the wrong room (which was a single), then I was told no they were wrong, and that was right, back there, then no back again to the double (creating the impression of confusion). Anaesthetist came to talk to me and then realised he had the wrong patient, the other one with my first name. Thank goodness I have an unusual surname!! Have HBF insurance and asked for single room. On arrival at Cove they seemed to be doing an admission at a central desk in the waiting lounge, and you could hear everything this person answered - no privacy. Did not affect me in any way, but felt sorry for the patient being admitted.

Sadly the specialist staff don't know their back end from their nose. Even though the numerous xrays and ultrasounds which I think were excessive and a waste of your limited resources showed the problem two weeks ago plus again today, they are off on ridiculous theories which all the tests do not support. If they had treated the problem that the tests supported we wouldn't be here again. Taking up a bed and resources that could be used elsewhere.

Individually, no staff were unpleasant, but the presentation and service overall was unprofessional and honestly, as part of a couple paying $163 a fortnight for private health, I thought the experience was really very poor. Not even a box of tissues provided.

Second visit staff were great and actually listened to us which saved a lot of time.

Front end staff 50/50 first time there were rude , dismissive and argumentative. Basically felt fobbed off. We were also lied too.

Had gynae surgery and discharge from the operation stained the disposable sheet pads on the bed - (which I removed eventually due to a lack of interest from anyone else) and also leaked onto bottom bed sheet, which despite my request was not removed and remained there still when I was discharged late next morning (at one stage my bed was tidied while I was in the toilet but that soiled sheet remained). My soiled pads were placed by me in a waste bin in the shared bathroom. Waste bin was not empty when I was initially brought back to the room. Waste bin was also not emptied before I was discharged, so the other poor woman in our room had to cope with my wrapped pads in the waste bin. Shower head also fell off when I had a shower.
